<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">This post is all about re-purposing and rethinking to complete the project and remodel goals you have for less money and more style!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Recently, <a href="http://shop.workshoptools.com/default.asp">Workshop Tools</a> completed some aesthetic updates to their retail locations bringing a sense of warmth and style, fitting to its atmosphere, to their displays. Keep in mind this project was applied to retail displays, but the concept translates into so many other spaces for both the home and workplace! It is a project based on re-purposed, industrial, and price conscious details which is the foundation of what we want to offer every customer! </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Workshop Tools has displays in all locations showcasing a large selection of <a href="http://shop.workshoptools.com/Driver-Bits-s/1922.htm">high-quality bits</a> and other drill attachments along with a huge selection of <a href="http://shop.workshoptools.com/Router-Bits-s/1918.htm">router bits</a>! The bin looks very nice on top, but the back-stock is all stored below. Curtains were sewn and installed on these wood display bins to cover the back-stock and storage underneath. The bins were up to 12’ in length. These measurements present a challenge when pricing rods and other hardware. We found a way around the cost and each issue was tackled with style and cost efficiency. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><u><b>Fabric Preparation</b></u></span><br />
<br />
<ul>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Clean all fabric in cold water and dry prior to cutting or sewing anything</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Iron</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Measure panels and cut remembering to measure the panels to the projects needs while adding the measurement needed for the seams</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Measure, iron, and pin seams prior to sewing</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The key to all the prep is to ensure when you wash the curtains sometime in the future after the initial installation they were pre-shrunk allowing for them to clean and hang again with the desired fit and appearance</span></li>
</ul>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><u><b>Fabric and Sewing</b></u></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">We chose shirting fabric in flannel red and black. It was the fabric in the style and pattern we wanted that offered the most durability. They will be moved often and need to last through the constant use. A warm pattern that complements our store concept hid the storage and tied in our existing color themes. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<ul>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Key points to remember when sewing curtains is to measure the top seams of the curtain to fit your rods and measure the lower seams with a width at least two inches more than the top. Honestly, I would go as far as doubling the measurement for the bottom seam in relation to the top, at the very least… The entire purpose of this is to add weight to your curtains base which helps to keep them smooth and neat. They will maintain a “just ironed” look more easily this way with little effort! I am not a fan of ironing so bring on the wider seam at the base!!</span></li>
</ul>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xOZTP282kxY/XSUkyl76TtI/AAAAAAAABeQ/W2xZc051xC8G-O_DavSmzafqVr-g_ri9QCLcBGAs/s1600/pix+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="300" data-original-width="225" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xOZTP282kxY/XSUkyl76TtI/AAAAAAAABeQ/W2xZc051xC8G-O_DavSmzafqVr-g_ri9QCLcBGAs/s320/pix+1.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Top seam for our curtain was 3”</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The base measurements varied from 5” to 6” depending on the bin and scenario.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Seams on the sides of the curtains were just an inch to secure all lose ends and avoid fraying</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">We chose to make 4-6 panels (depending on the bins length) for each side of the displays to allow for less sliding back and forth of the curtain, easier access to back stock, creating less wear and tear in general. </span></li>
</ul>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<ul>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Rods for the length we needed were hard to find and a higher price than the goal for the project, so we researched other options and decided on metal conduit. This product was available in the lengths we needed for less than $5.00 a rod! We chose ¾ “ as a minimum width because it was the thinnest option that did not show signs of sagging when installed at full length.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">If we had chosen a traditional curtain rod at the same length the cost was at least $80.00 for something durable! Plus, this look really suites our store.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Hardware to keep the rods up was another thing to consider as well. One of our managers and long-time valued members of the WST team, Steve, figured out the solution! He simply cut wooden blocks to fit the install spaces we were working with and drilled holes to allow the rods to set in either side. Cost for hardware…….. $0.00! We just used what we had on hand. 😊 </span></li>

<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Again, one of the main keys to this project is the versatility of application! Consider the other items you know about or may see while perusing the isles of your <a href="http://shop.workshoptools.com/default.asp">favorite local tool store</a> 😊. You could apply the same concepts from this specific project to curtains, room dividers in a small apartment, dressing rooms, closets, children’s playhouses, and so much more. You can find so many options to substitute the traditional items marketed for their purpose at high prices. Another important value to this approach is in using common fabrics, textures, and decorative elements you effectively create a cohesive theme. Your home or store will gain a sense of flow from one space to another and in our case a look that we hope you warmly recognize with each visit to our retail locations. </span><br />

Well, with life’s chaos this second part of the makeover took a touch longer than planned! :) Since our third little ones arrival we have found our new normal and it makes me smile. My oldest little guy helped me with this final project and all of the kids just love the end results!!! It’s a wonderful extension of our house that kids enjoy no matter what the weather outside. It’s just perfect for them!!!<br />
The initial project started with pieces of rug remnants on the floor and those great plastic curtain things that rolled down over the windows, you know the ones I referenced loving so much in my first post! Not actually... Anyway, part one removed all of the window coverings and I put curtains on roping around the entire room. The rope just has a really neat look I think and it’s very cost efficient. Rods can become so expensive and I’m also limited in actual sturdy space to mount something to in the portion of the wall I was working with so this concept was best for my space limitations as well. Anyway, moving on, part two gets rid of all of the ugly carpet remnants!!!!! Yes!!!!!<br />
The new floor is an excellent option for the kiddos right now and it looks great as well! It actually insulates the room a bit more too! I can pull up a piece if it gets messed up and it’s a cushioned space so it’s safe for my sweet babies and their heads if they take a tumble! Also, easy cleanup as I can just sweep or wipe down the floor!!!! Can you tell I love it?! Before and after a below. It only took a few hours total to pull up the old carpet and cut the mats to fit the space!<br />
<br />
NOW, the final product!!! Whew! Much better!<br />

So many times in my life have i stopped and looked at all that lies before me with total overwhelming emotion weither it be joy, peace, stress, sadness, or an unknown emotion where I am just stricken still in my steps and without knowledge of my next step to take. It is amazing in each instance how moments, hours, days, months, or years pass and all of the sudden you flash back to the moment you stood still. Suddenly you realize how if you had never stood in that one place you would never have walked so far as you have now and what a blessing those steps have been. These reflections just constantly remind me when I doubt how I should instead trust, when I cry how I should instead pray, and when I lose control how I should know there is a bigger picture I do not know controlled by a higher power I know so well that holds us in His arms and surrounds us with His angels. </div>
One moment I recall as a standing still in tears moment is now something that basically smacks me in the face because of how beautifully it all turned out. I wanted to share and hope it encourages someone that needs it today. <br />
<div dir="ltr">
Five years ago I ended a phone call that was so important to me and started to bawl. I had built up so much anxiety about it, planned the conversation so extensively, made notes, and prayed, but the call did not go as I planned and hoped for. I had just given birth to our first little one. He was all I wanted to focus on. I asked if I could work at least part of the time from my home office. Understandibly, the response was no to keep things fair among co-workers, but i knew then for me I had to make a change. Five years later I am a full time at home mom working part time from my home office. Homeschooling my sweet five year old and feeling so blessed beyond words. I did not know God's plan, but i can say His plan was more perfect than I ever dreamed in my mind when I made my own plans. <br /><br />I pray that your hearts desires are answered and you hear His voice when He directs you in His path. Have you ever watched one of those great make you happy movies where they are in a garden or some outdoor space and all of the sudden the entire landscape starts to sparkle with glittering lights? I always see those scenes and have wanted to achieve that look in some outdoor space I can enjoy in person!<br />
<br />
Glittering string lights among so many other things can just be so simple, but add so much to a special moment or make a simple normal space for every day use so much more special for all of your moments spent in it. Well, we finally set this special space up for my sister's 30th birthday! She has a wonderful space behind her home with trees, a pergola, and some other lovely outdoor elements that we were really able to highlight with glittering outdoor solar lights!<br />
<br />
Below you can see columns wrapped in glitter lights and lights wrapped around many of her trees. It was lovely because the party started during daylight and as the evening went on everything lit up with glittering lights all around.<br />
<br />
I included a picture of the twine wrapped number 30 with little flowers on it that was mounted at the top of the pergola. Canning jars were wrapped with twine and hung in various places with a votive in them and they were also added to the tables. It was just a nice transition from day to evening light with all of the lovely various glowing pieces around!! :)<br />

<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue light" , , "helvetica" , "arial" , sans-serif;">So it has been awhile since my last blog and I have missed this!!!!! There has been so much going on that time has run short. Our oldest is now almost five, our littlest guy is now a year and a half, and we have a little girl on the way! We bought our first home and have taken on several projects since moving in about nine months ago at this point. We have felt so blessed with so many wonderful new and precious gifts in our lives!</span></div>
<br />
I wanted to note many of the projects as we go along to share ideas and cost efficient makeovers for new homeowners that we have come across.<br />
<br />
One project I was very eager to do was our sunroom. I want to redo the flooring and window covers, along with changing general décor and layout. For now my first projects are the windows!!!<br />
<br />
There were roll up vinyl shades varying in colors of cream and tan when we moved in. They were difficult and aged. Apparently they were a little brittle from excess heat and sun exposure as well. Anyway, I didn't love them at all and wanted to make a change.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrU4VlI7GIWY4m4Y97_Hl1D2Is_SXqrGT-f77t_3WN_EADK2umEzOG5GlAT7rnwhjwU38s2TlzBZiXv2cLh4KLZmPppA508qlL1xVqdsr-7oyx-Jd8A6kxIgtTGsg-WVv4bhN2TIrKjNYy/s640/blogger-image--1708084083.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrU4VlI7GIWY4m4Y97_Hl1D2Is_SXqrGT-f77t_3WN_EADK2umEzOG5GlAT7rnwhjwU38s2TlzBZiXv2cLh4KLZmPppA508qlL1xVqdsr-7oyx-Jd8A6kxIgtTGsg-WVv4bhN2TIrKjNYy/s400/blogger-image--1708084083.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Instead of spending a fortune on curtain rods, curtains, and patterns I wanted to find another way. The exciting second option is a basic flat sheet, rope, and some metal hooks. Just select the least expensive flat sheet in the color you prefer and there you have it. I wanted a no-sew option as well so I just picked up curtain clips with rings and attached to my sheets. The sheet length was longer than the window length so I just folded the excess over on the front top of the sheet and made that a bit of a ruffle for extra detail. I got a solid piece of rope that exceeded the length I needed for all three walls to keep a continuous run of rope with no cutting or potential fraying that way. I also selected open hooks that were substantial enough to support the weight times three for each wall (so 9 total in my case). Select the distance between hooks that you feel good about to keep the curtains straight but with a slight sag is fine. Pre-drill your holes with a bit slightly smaller then the hook you chose and then screw in your hooks. In my case a 5/32 drill bit was perfect to create the pilot hole for my hook. To insert the hooks, if you can get a wing nut bit to attach to your drill it makes putting these hooks in so much easier. If your hook exceeds the size wing nut you can find then a short metal rod or bar of some sort used to turn the hook manually adds a lot of leverage and makes the task much faster.<br />
<br />
My new flooring is next, but here is a picture just after changing the curtains!!!<br />

<br />
I feel like it's much cozier. I'll be changing the layout of my plant tables that my sweet kiddos and I plant succulents and other various favorites on as well, but this is the update so far. I'm excited to get this project complete!!!<br />
<br />
Thank you for stopping by and stay tuned for more on this and many other projects!!!!<br />
Happy Spring Project Time!<br />

For peace, and faith to have the trust to simply lean on you.</p><p>I pray for every heart I know and each I pray is with you. I pray for every move I make to teach my sweet ones of You.</p><p>I pray for every thing I do to touch their hearts for good. I pray that every time I speak I say it as You would.</p><p>The sad thing is I fail on these and each day make mistakes, but I pray for constant guidance and far better the next day.</p><p>My prayer most every moment is to grow in you each day and for my family's focus to always do the same.</p><p>I simply just have peace in knowing You are always near and always with Your angels placed around us far or near.</p><p>I pray for long and happy lives with my family in your presence and then for thankful togetherness always forever in Heaven.</p><p>In Jesus Christ Precious Name Amen</p><p><br></p><p>This is my nightly prayer, but noted in a poem. It's what I always pray. I want my boys and my entire wonderful family to know my love for them and how hard I try though I make so many mistakes. I pray their hearts reflect my prayers as answered always with a strong Christian Faith and heart that shows it. I felt the need to share.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>Sweet dreams,</p><p>Momma Mia</p><p><br></p><div style="clear: both;"><br><br></div><p><br></p>Momma Miahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06617799387373163764noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2647432478003956114.post-17885387381533723142016-05-05T01:52:00.001-07:002016-05-06T21:43:17.097-07:00Mother's Day Gifts or Any Day Gifts That Make Memories Over the years we have created and found some wonderful projects for Mother's Day that have made some of my favorite gifts and memories! These are perfect for special days and any day you want to give a special gift honestly. <div> I wanted to share several wonderful projects you can do with your children as fun DIY crafts at home that make the very best times with them and just the most precious keepsakes. </div><div> These all only require time and a few basic things such as paint, paper, and your kiddos! Perfect gifts for Mom's Day! </div><div> My very first to show you and the largest piece I have and LOVE is the outdoor scene made with only the kids hands, feet, and arms covered in paint! Your kids will enjoy and you get a beautiful memory with the size of their sweet feet and hands all over it! This was my Mom's idea and I just love, love, love it! Notice they used handprints for the clouds and sun, foot prints for the green tree tops, arms for the tree trunk, feet for the grass, and the side of their little fists for the flowers. :) </div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjte9QsXDBIJXkfacw-lOLjO-YiDvVv9YJd0kYkqHfvolkAkQlh5-CeUzbdQYn0Nn4hT-RnNhLd2ATBCzwgoQE01nAl_re41E4QgLp1xIIjufByPlNe_HZCz7eABWfTv-XHfYoVp1r-P48X/s640/blogger-image-1160457488.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjte9QsXDBIJXkfacw-lOLjO-YiDvVv9YJd0kYkqHfvolkAkQlh5-CeUzbdQYn0Nn4hT-RnNhLd2ATBCzwgoQE01nAl_re41E4QgLp1xIIjufByPlNe_HZCz7eABWfTv-XHfYoVp1r-P48X/s640/blogger-image-1160457488.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Another one I love so much that I came across with an example of hand prints and changed to foot prints just because it was the most likely success with my little boy. He was just a few months at the time I first did one and not terribly fond of paint on his fingers. :) A foot print bouquet for Mother's Day! My favorite bouquet to date :)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-NCc9s7lkMEo/Vy1uIq65xaI/AAAAAAAABKE/IpcmBBu2dII/s640/blogger-image--1965461926.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-NCc9s7lkMEo/Vy1uIq65xaI/AAAAAAAABKE/IpcmBBu2dII/s640/blogger-image--1965461926.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">If you have just recently had a special new addition to your family a keepsake shadow box is always special too! Include things you know held special value and add a few pictures if there is room. I have hospital bonnet, first little bottle, come home outfits, a blue pacifier used with our family to announce it was a boy, measurement tape, foot prints, and a tiny precious little blood pressure cuff. :) </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiWGMlqfwB8ecP0E4Gk_qQGro1VCSXYMHlZT1DyeqvoSJCaUMYZSynMOZJtU3FJCDTUW2cl3mRvYtrMAlzKioc5ziRdlCOwLDBgVxUhyphenhyphenf1df9nwO1DoyIfnQgWSrL29ndIdrJwLBMWMScq/s640/blogger-image--371821653.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiWGMlqfwB8ecP0E4Gk_qQGro1VCSXYMHlZT1DyeqvoSJCaUMYZSynMOZJtU3FJCDTUW2cl3mRvYtrMAlzKioc5ziRdlCOwLDBgVxUhyphenhyphenf1df9nwO1DoyIfnQgWSrL29ndIdrJwLBMWMScq/s640/blogger-image--371821653.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCTUpMe6DmK5TxwwxC8y6gnNMXPzxEFTFpxhHS0yKOMAgrEZAawtwwAdx_iHAkhytVHroOu3QXvrMFeU3AF3rWie4bWbWt_S7Q9BDGwc6rU9wlJHNGciiXYfb-3BQIC3-ImCapsxRthFFU/s640/blogger-image-934143267.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCTUpMe6DmK5TxwwxC8y6gnNMXPzxEFTFpxhHS0yKOMAgrEZAawtwwAdx_iHAkhytVHroOu3QXvrMFeU3AF3rWie4bWbWt_S7Q9BDGwc6rU9wlJHNGciiXYfb-3BQIC3-ImCapsxRthFFU/s640/blogger-image-934143267.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Have your kids make their own cards with their own art work. <br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The first project is just a classic need in most homes... Various rooms quickly get slightly dated iun appearance and it quickly becomes VERY overwhelming as the home owner! Immediately our minds think that we have to change out the counter tops, the tile in the shower and tub, the cabinetry, and the list goes on.... These things quickly add up to figures that really become daunting when you know there is more than JUST ONE room that needs this kind of attention in your home.... Here is a perfect redo showing how you can make small changes and get big, beautiful results! Love this redo example and this site! Just look how fresh and pleasant that bathroom redo is with the change of a few minor and inexpensive elements. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-T1V5N4UBbYo/VrkXNAirdyI/AAAAAAAABB0/ZvCBInFwfuM/s1600/Before-and-after-bathroom-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="247" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-T1V5N4UBbYo/VrkXNAirdyI/AAAAAAAABB0/ZvCBInFwfuM/s320/Before-and-after-bathroom-1.jpg" width="320"></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://centsationalgirl.com/2011/01/guest-visitor-house-of-smiths/">https://centsationalgirl.com/2011/01/guest-visitor-house-of-smiths/</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br></div>
<div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This next redo shows how to really update a fireplace and take it from an older more traditional fireplace to a statement piece in your room! Note the fireplace stops at the mantle, but by repainting the brick around the fireplace, adding framing up the entire wall to the ceiling, and painting the wall from the mantle to the ceiling in the color that matched the brick this fireplace now fills the wall from floor to ceiling and it is gorgeous with minimal investment! Now if you have a fireplace that makes you fretted and seems dated and dark think of the options now! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

This is a neat idea to add interest and a pretty window seat to a room that needs a face lift and some dressing up... Ikea pieces repurposed for a whole new idea! I love window seats no matter what, but then add storage to it and you cannot lose... Especially in your children's rooms. :) </div>

This next one is something I just loved... It really gave the kitchen a total facelift and it just looks so bright and inviting now!!!! Note how they opened up one of the pieces of cabinetry to make it an open faced display shelf for some lovely pieces in the kitchen.... I really liked that. Also, think about this from a different aspect being if you purchase a home with far less cabinetry in the kitchen then you hoped for..... Add shelving with pretty shelf supports and paint them to match the cabinetry. Place your pretty pieces or well organized sections of kitchen gadgets on the shelves and hide the less manageable sections behind closed doors!! I love my grandmothers kitchen in Maine. She had opened shelving in several spots in her kitchen that made it feel inviting and homey to me. She displayed hand made pottery pieces on those shelves in tons of bright colors. I just love it!! </div>

Little Details that Count in Big Ways !! I want to do everything on this list!! I am excited to share a bunch of finds that will add alot of charm to your home with little money spent. These little changes are small, but unique and smart features and additions that will set your home apart from the rest. You would not see these things often, but once you do you will not want to go without! <div><br></div><div> Check out how great this makes those plain and simple light switch covers look. Funny how my light switch covers were just fine until u saw this haha, but what an easy and inexpensive upgrade! So pretty! You go from a normal switch plate to lovely.... :) Love it! </div><div> Two approaches to achieve this and both cost very little... First option is an inexpensive or old frame you have setting around that fits your switches which is pretty easy to do because the sizes are comparable or you can use actual molding. The following link shows the redo with picture frames. </div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cEaX5Hr79gY/VsKn-7HgwMI/AAAAAAAABFE/ewS146CaIjI/s640/blogger-image-366637206.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cEaX5Hr79gY/VsKn-7HgwMI/AAAAAAAABFE/ewS146CaIjI/s640/blogger-image-366637206.jpg"></a></div><a href="http://memyselfndiy.com/2014/03/03/diy-switch-plate/">http://memyselfndiy.com/2014/03/03/diy-switch-plate/</a></div><div><br></div><div> This is a great change coming up next. You know those drawers in your house that are fake? You pull them and think for sure they will open, but nothing happens and then you just think it so odd to take all that time to install something that really should actually be what it looks like?! :) Well make good use of it and turn it into a functional addition to the space with this neat idea! </div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1imUUv0TM2JG-CHRaWDHsS4pHxwPTYVtwjnLsSoq7Ie1ptBj5bm9Ldt68yBCZ7kTKzfdklJ4G7h0kUMbY51daT-I3EBZpEp8BNedWs7kh-jOQCay0M_YuQS-Vd04jRp3pt61qg7LSvdMK/s640/blogger-image-264651783.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1imUUv0TM2JG-CHRaWDHsS4pHxwPTYVtwjnLsSoq7Ie1ptBj5bm9Ldt68yBCZ7kTKzfdklJ4G7h0kUMbY51daT-I3EBZpEp8BNedWs7kh-jOQCay0M_YuQS-Vd04jRp3pt61qg7LSvdMK/s640/blogger-image-264651783.jpg"></a></div></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="http://www.houzz.com/photos/555862/In-Cabinet-Paper-Towel-Holder-traditional-kitchen-orange-county">http://www.houzz.com/photos/555862/In-Cabinet-Paper-Towel-Holder-traditional-kitchen-orange-county</a></div><br>
<div> Here is another inexpensive upgrade. Not fond of the color of your appliance anymore? Upgrade your dishwasher for example simply with contact paper that is stainless steel in appearance! <div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKk25Cp2tiZH44hRz7wg5BACWm7zeV58ehyOwODoO9Bxy3TUmq-tJbiCRC8Ps9PQnFKnLW6CmUXlaz3mYp4-VQj3ceb_Xe6143NnrYsOL2uKid9B9DFGnayWWFU3ASFAZzb2XGzANWfc_b/s640/blogger-image-2117409579.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKk25Cp2tiZH44hRz7wg5BACWm7zeV58ehyOwODoO9Bxy3TUmq-tJbiCRC8Ps9PQnFKnLW6CmUXlaz3mYp4-VQj3ceb_Xe6143NnrYsOL2uKid9B9DFGnayWWFU3ASFAZzb2XGzANWfc_b/s640/blogger-image-2117409579.jpg"></a></div></div><div><a href="http://julieblanner.com/diy-stainless-steel-makeover/">http://julieblanner.com/diy-stainless-steel-makeover/</a></div><div><br></div><div> We all need extra space in our kitchens! The below addition is so smart and takes up very little space and yet still adds a lot of space! This creates a neat and clean organizational space for cleaning supplies and when you close the doors no one would ever even pay attention to it. </div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0zK4QGZq5HZTiCctyrhjRmZ1PyESYBaT-jql3cP06_AwAsQpOcaCdEP22n3pohS877MGEt0So51rBf9YccbxVDwEgHojiVOFe6ADhMVNp4qQTmP7ugXhikQlBTasjqTP2Rlgf9t_23XuL/s640/blogger-image-1009377521.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0zK4QGZq5HZTiCctyrhjRmZ1PyESYBaT-jql3cP06_AwAsQpOcaCdEP22n3pohS877MGEt0So51rBf9YccbxVDwEgHojiVOFe6ADhMVNp4qQTmP7ugXhikQlBTasjqTP2Rlgf9t_23XuL/s640/blogger-image-1009377521.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div> Add a lovely cover to your toilet paper and paper towel rolls with this great idea! Molding turned into a shelving case around them removes the eye soar and adds functionality with a very attractive flair. Love!!!!! </div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEih2U6FFAGVrHDSGZ3oyL73xm4CkMHEgnhrw0X5aC4lJ004HM0uDhsiRRZWJpIalpsLOMG3It21G_7TNYwdHVpCxX6XjfVO4Yr1IU6GfowXY5YKWp8I1tdaHqQ30kAFzbYbxZbxMoXohUDF/s640/blogger-image-2137518425.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEih2U6FFAGVrHDSGZ3oyL73xm4CkMHEgnhrw0X5aC4lJ004HM0uDhsiRRZWJpIalpsLOMG3It21G_7TNYwdHVpCxX6XjfVO4Yr1IU6GfowXY5YKWp8I1tdaHqQ30kAFzbYbxZbxMoXohUDF/s640/blogger-image-2137518425.jpg"></a></div></div><div><br></div><div> Here is another very pretty way to cover your toilet paper roll and add function and style at the same time. Lovely!!! </div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QEUMYVu-qlc/VsagIf_wi7I/AAAAAAAABGo/KfYwtgsInE8/s640/blogger-image-1467789175.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QEUMYVu-qlc/VsagIf_wi7I/AAAAAAAABGo/KfYwtgsInE8/s640/blogger-image-1467789175.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="http://fabuloushomeblog.com/?p=6592">http://fabuloushomeblog.com/?p=6592</a></div><br></div><div> This is same idea as cabinet paint makeover in the kitchen example, but still the transformations are just so fun to see. It's encouraging too to see what small investments can change! This is just changing fixtures and paint. Remember too fixtures can get expensive if you approach it the wrong way. Be sure and shop for sales, and look on sites where people are selling barely used things.... You can save a ton even though you weren't really spending a lot to begin with. The key is that the extra savings here CAN MAKE ANOTHER PROJECT POSSIBLE! :D (Happy Dance!!)</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WfLrKnCIFIo/VsajyfNLoGI/AAAAAAAABG4/wJ1sXOtCYVM/s640/blogger-image-304030877.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WfLrKnCIFIo/VsajyfNLoGI/AAAAAAAABG4/wJ1sXOtCYVM/s640/blogger-image-304030877.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div><a href="http://www.onegoodthingbyjillee.com/2012/09/bathroom-cabinets-makeover-my-first-ever-grown-up-diy-project.html">http://www.onegoodthingbyjillee.com/2012/09/bathroom-cabinets-makeover-my-first-ever-grown-up-diy-project.html</a></div><div><br></div><div> Now I loved this because this lower portion of a lot of houses on the outside siding is just unattractive and unfinished looking. Now Ready, Set, Go I feel like I've been spoken to so much today. I almost feel like God is yelling loud and clear, "Okay Mia, I'm speaking to you and asking if you are listening?!" It ha touched me so deeply I wanted to jump on here and share. Maybe this is a turning point, a new beginning to my life goals, the shaping of my future and my dreams actually starting to unfold... Maybe this is a learning experience and motivation to move forward with encouragement that God hears me, but may not be ready for me to start my new journey. I'm not sure, but I do know that very loudly and clearly He has lovingly spoken to me and shared signs with me since late last night. This is just the most recent touching experiences, but honestly my experiences since middle of September have been walking me down a path that truly constantly screamed God has His hands wrapped around myself and my lovely family.<div> Specifically to share today's experiences you would have to know that in hindsite I see it started last night when I saw a post on Facebook sharing the story of Joanna Gaines (extremely talented and beautiful person inside and out with a lovely family who has prospered under God's guidance as well) who is the star designer on HGTVs Fixer Upper with her husband being the star contractor and building director). Herself and her husband Chip Gaines have stepped out in faith and, as she stated in her short video, have been placed now on a tremendous platform allowing them to touch so many people's lives while fulfilling their family dreams... This video brought me to tears and spoke so deeply to me at this exact moment in my life. I have included link because it may touch you as well. <a href="https://vimeo.com/125510141?outro=1" style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">https://vimeo.com/125510141?outro=1</a></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"> Now moving into my experiences today, which I realize link into my yesterday now, I've had so many things cross my path relating to others touched as well by God today and it keeps coming up. My sister spoke to me early on today very touched by the Joanna Gaines video I shared, then we had a very long heart to heart that brought a lot of thought and clarity to my vision of my professional and personal life right now. This all could be described in far more detail, but suffice it to say my day rolled into this evening and then I run across some amazing articles written by powerful Christians. This evenings events that i just began to reference were as follows, I'm reading this blog and the words are so well spoken and speak so clearly to me and again exactly where my current mindset is. This blog post suggests at home work and then it's an amazing article that suggests books to read for virtual assistant type of work making around the income I make now. The writer of this article beautifully articulating why many people from many view points desire more schedule flexibility and hers being her children which is exactly where my heart is as a mom of a three year old and a three month old at this moment. So I download two of the many books her article suggested and the very first one to come up for sampling on my Kindle app is written by a Christian lady who wrote it with the want to stay home, but contribute income and she sounds like she is literally in my head at this very point in my life.... Literally, I cannot tell you how loudly this book slapped me in the face with the introduction... </span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"> So now I'm searching, praying, and reaching out in hopes that all of these beautiful moments and signs that have crossed my path are a call to action on my part. I'm sharing because I hope this encourages someone reading this as their words encouraged me. I am praying that if this is a fork in the road that takes me down a new and wonderful road of blessings for my family that I can share the journey ste by step to encourage others as these powerful writers I have run across encouraged me and as most importantly an effort to share God's love and guidance in my life so that you can know as well He is there and carrying us every step of the way. </span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"> As I research and learn I will share more through posts here and I hope I have a lot more to share in the coming weeks and months! </span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Lots of Love and appreciation for your visits to my blog! </span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Momma Mia <div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJBOS-9UKK5gN7URUpcIrXwmWTNOb3ztkpL9lypohcBgso6iXSLNXtsyLAaWoQpMOr8OrUru2-cJ9KWU6wQmqpbj8xjK0QZBLPaGt2kxeNP4YOJ8ePLcmvMBnKBMDdTqPpKVasZJt-f8St/s640/blogger-image-1707459859.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJBOS-9UKK5gN7URUpcIrXwmWTNOb3ztkpL9lypohcBgso6iXSLNXtsyLAaWoQpMOr8OrUru2-cJ9KWU6wQmqpbj8xjK0QZBLPaGt2kxeNP4YOJ8ePLcmvMBnKBMDdTqPpKVasZJt-f8St/s640/blogger-image-1707459859.jpg"></a></div></span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">As an addition, I wanted to share the eBook about at home work and virtual assistant guidance because I appreciated it so much and I am still reading it at this moment. I wasn't thinking about blogging this little project when I did it..... The thought came after from my sister so I'm sharing what I have. Mostly the mini thing refers to the fact it was a super short and sweet DIY project. :) <div> So I had a lamp that I love, but the shade had seen better days. Finally a week or maybe a month ago :) (since the addition of our second sweet baby my concept of time is off more than usual even) the lamp shade was so badly in need of love I just retired it into the trash can, but not before saving the metal framing for a possible project later :). Soooo I had been looking at some of my favorite spots to shop for supplies and crafts, but I was finding nothing! The shades were either super expensive or just a paper form with lots of love needed. I ran across a lamp shade that was too long and lacked any character really, but it was a good width and I had my fingers crossed as to the cost. It was unmarked and all alone on a random shelf. Surprise for me because I get to the register and it was $8 on clearance! </div><div> I get home and decide I'll try it as is, but it was awful. You couldn't reach the switch at all once I put it on. So then I decided I would cut it down and just go from there. I took a small knife from my kitchen for this project. A crafters knife of any sort would have been more helpful, but this was the closest thing to me when I decided the lamp shade was going to change and work for me if I had anything to do with it! I sliced around the entire form to shorten the length and repeated a couple of times until the length looked really cute. Remember to slice away from you at all times. This specially was a project where the form slipped some while working with it so it made me a little paranoid while cutting Then, I grabbed a small belt I never wear and thought I might use it as an accent detail around the base... I decided against this, but will use this concept again because I liked the look of a thin braided belt as an accent. I ended up choosing some pretty ribbon that complemented my bedroom colors and the lamp shade just in a simple easy solid color. It was a navy shade and now a simple white ribbon. To do the project I just carefully used hot glue because the lamp shade material and ribbon fabric were perfect for this simple choice to just hot glue. (I love my hot glue gun!)</div><div> The lamp shade is now much better than before and only $8 for it! Simple fix. Maybe 30-40 minutes to just get the shade length to what I liked and add ribbon! </div><div> Basically, do not give up on a redo you have in your mind. Don't necessarily get your mind set on a certain path either. Look in clearance, look in odd places, grab what looks like it may not work yet has potential and the best things often come from these purchases!!! Pictures attached below of final lamp with new shade!!! :) I am happy and hope this offers some inspiration for a project on your shelf at home as well!! :) </div><div><br></div><div>~~Momma Mia </div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-87Qmv9cupn8/VjdE4JqB7xI/AAAAAAAAA_U/9A8rZv-z4RY/s640/blogger-image--889900942.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-87Qmv9cupn8/VjdE4JqB7xI/AAAAAAAAA_U/9A8rZv-z4RY/s640/blogger-image--889900942.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div>Momma Miahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06617799387373163764noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2647432478003956114.post-39292436947049884362015-09-28T21:17:00.001-07:002015-10-31T22:12:51.114-07:00Family of Three Now a Family of Four! ;)<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgus_VasPagxwqd9fJUh9ghT9ypmQlbz029W70cbtIEK6rCLgbyKE01y0YChgCatixtBPqqm0OLC7VIEL_66SiaXXaQDUHNyFMPxlwDigMBzhpjnAGVdDs0yR0O5bypUUmHbRDZFyaIaSGf/s640/blogger-image--1899081823.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgus_VasPagxwqd9fJUh9ghT9ypmQlbz029W70cbtIEK6rCLgbyKE01y0YChgCatixtBPqqm0OLC7VIEL_66SiaXXaQDUHNyFMPxlwDigMBzhpjnAGVdDs0yR0O5bypUUmHbRDZFyaIaSGf/s640/blogger-image--1899081823.jpg"></a></div><br></div></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"> Since my last post we have joyfully welcomed our second sweet little angel into the arms of our family. It's an overwhelming happiness and love that fills you beyond anything you can plan to expect. I'm sitting here right now watching them both as they nap with sweet peaceful little faces that light up my world! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"> You wonder all kinds of things as you find out you are expecting your second child... </span><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">One of my main concerns (that was more of a pre-baby arrival concern) was a healthy pregnancy and safe arrival of our little guy. We have had some wonderful and special people around us go through some very tragic experiences. The weight of those experiences left a lot of fear in my heart and mind. I just wanted to be sure to do all I could to make baby healthy and myself healthy because my oldest needed me and our little one needed me to make sure I did my part to be healthy for him as well. I am beyond thankful God brought us both safely through. It was a healthy pregnancy with little issue except I throw up all 9 months with my boys! :) They are worth every bit of those minor issues though! The key in all of my worries is to trust and try to find calm in that we can only control we we can which are the daily choices of how we treat our body's while pregnant and if we are making every effort then let the worries and concerns go because those are harmful to you as well as the baby. Let go of your fears and let trust God has His arms around you. </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"> </span><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"> One of my top concerns for after baby arrived was making sure my oldest felt included and still special along with making sure I loved on the second as well. I promised my oldest the entire pregnancy that if he was just patient I'd be back to normal soon and we could jump and play just like we always have. We also made sure to explain how much baby brother loved him and how he could hear him in my belly while I was pregnant even to encourage his feeling/knowing there was a special connection already between him and his brother. Since baby's arrival my oldest has had his moments of needing attention, but that's to be expected! However, he absolutely endlessly loves our littlest and just yesterday told his baby brother he was his best friend in the whole wide little world! So all is going extremely well on the new family member front!!!!! </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"> My biggest thing to share and be thankful for is how I see our beautiful family growing and progressing. We are still adjusting to all of life's little changes since our newest addition, but we are ready and enjoying the ride! </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"> I am just very thankful for all we have been blessed with and hoping to encourage others through our experiences. </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><br></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Lots of love from Momma Mia and family</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><br></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><br></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><br></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><br></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><br></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><br></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><br></span></div>Momma Miahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06617799387373163764noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2647432478003956114.post-55305020074775760122015-09-13T21:45:00.001-07:002015-09-13T21:46:18.169-07:00From One to Two Beautiful Blessings<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVjBsQjtUBEWI7kmlyAodTy77WW5Wqach5-uI78ZCwB_ZKf9_F5J9R4sIGB64EDedwnXF8DIFe6SVIm8-PQnmc2uvYJybGMTazfPehL_9gzXUhW_VB-X-dNbQDmbX1g6R8xa10II0jMB4t/s640/blogger-image--1307361378.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVjBsQjtUBEWI7kmlyAodTy77WW5Wqach5-uI78ZCwB_ZKf9_F5J9R4sIGB64EDedwnXF8DIFe6SVIm8-PQnmc2uvYJybGMTazfPehL_9gzXUhW_VB-X-dNbQDmbX1g6R8xa10II0jMB4t/s640/blogger-image--1307361378.jpg"></a></div><br><div> Tomorrow morning I leave for the hospital. Scheduled to be induced for the delivery of our second baby boy. I just wanted to share my thoughts before it all changes tomorrow and our family of three becomes four. <div> First thing is I'm scheduled to be induced because I tend to deliver quickly and my doctor is concerned I will deliver before arriving at the hospital. I'm not a fan of this idea either. I want our baby here safely and further down the list of importance ofcourse I really want an epidural! So there is the reason I am being induced this time. My prior pregnancy was due to preeclampsia just three weeks prior to my first little guys due date. </div><div> My little boy is so excited to meet his brother with moments mixed in of hesitancy and "That's my baby stuff so why am I going to have to share it again mom?" He has such a beautiful heart and disposition though that I know all the kinks will smooth and he will be amazing to this new little member of our family. I've been directed and informed by wonderful blessings around me who have gone through this transition. They have offered me ways to hopefully make my oldest know how special he is, how big of a helper he is to me, and how needed and loved he is by all of us including our new little one. Thankful for this advice and nervous for tomorrow's events to unfold. I'm just going to pray, kiss my little guy a million times, and focus on getting home and loving on our newly increased family!! </div><div> I thank God for my family and friends that surround us with love and support and before I fall asleep tonight I will pray a thankful and excited prayer for the blessings we are experiencing. </div><div> To my oldest blessing and heartbeat, "I love you my sweet oldest angel and eagerly anticipate introducing you to your little brother and our newest little blessing tomorrow!"</div><div> Thankful for a healthy pregnancy and praying for a healthy and smooth delivery tomorrow. </div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">So much love and thankfulness is in my heart tonight</span></div><div>~~Momma Mia~~</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div></div>Momma Miahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06617799387373163764noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2647432478003956114.post-54553201500832806222015-08-28T21:32:00.001-07:002015-08-28T21:32:57.250-07:00Sharing a friends new creation :) This is just a post to share a friends recently published cookbook! It's filled with delicious desserts planned around being able to ship them to loved ones and also able to just be made for your loved ones nearby as well. I just had to share because I'm excited for her and wish her the best success following her passion to make wonderful things for her family's enjoyment in the midst of a very hectic professional life as a wonderful high risk OBGYN. We all are so excited and as it comes closer my whole hope and focus is to make my little one feel a special part of it all and my new little one transition and thrive happily! <div> It's funny how your thoughts change from the first blessing to the second. The first only makes you worry about everything being perfect still but in a very different way! With my first I wanted the nursery perfect, the clothes ready, toys and accessories for every need in place, and me to do the best I could taking care and chugging water to nurse him successfully. My whole focus was on one little angel coming home healthy and happy. </div><div> Well, as a side note, we were ready with supplies and accessories, but I had to have an emergency delivery due to preeclampsia with that little man so things went a little differently than planned. I did not nest, but instead my lovely mom did for me! Specifically she emergency nested in forty eight hours and throughout the night after I was put in the hospital! She was a huge blessing and the reason things were organized when we arrived home. I kept thinking I had time and surprise I did not! :) </div><div> Back to the things different for me this pregnancy, I am nesting and possibly not even the natural nesting, but more of the panic nesting in case something crazy happens! :) We have most of what we need so it's just special purchases for our new baby and special things for his brother. Most importantly though, my mental planning is so different. I want so much to make sure my oldest feels a part of everything and knows how special he is to us all while bringing our new little one home! I want our new little one to get all of the attention he needs as well! It's iust strange how from one to two little ones the planning for me mentally seems more intense. I just want the love to be felt from us abundantly and in a special way for both little angels in our family. :) </div><div> Currently my son is so excited and just keeps asking when his brother will be done growing? "Is he still growing, growing mommy?" He asks me often. Hehugs and kisses and talks to my belly often and his little brother responds to him like no one else! It's precious and I'm so excited to see when he gets to welcome him home! </div><div> Praying for a safe delivery and arrival home with a healthy happy new little angel. I am thankful for the blessing of another sweet little gift in our lives and just hoping and praying to do my very best at every moment for our family! </div><div> I just had to share an update and hope to be posting more often soon! This year just seems to have been so crazy, but I'm thankful for the crazy it has been too!!! </div><div><br></div><div>Baby necessities: Newborn fishing hat ❤️ and precious little super soft baby accessories! </div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoOjePcbbqnnw9q-9pWC7ljVcRpIvl3YW8y1NXdF9jN5GRWPA2rWU3qa3PCMLdw6E-0oOimPa1ilwqQL6L085OM-YAesJc0DIzzle5QR_Cd8NBs2MNtpYeHabPG-tcRcPy9z_hbXxuFfh9/s640/blogger-image-1911542832.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoOjePcbbqnnw9q-9pWC7ljVcRpIvl3YW8y1NXdF9jN5GRWPA2rWU3qa3PCMLdw6E-0oOimPa1ilwqQL6L085OM-YAesJc0DIzzle5QR_Cd8NBs2MNtpYeHabPG-tcRcPy9z_hbXxuFfh9/s640/blogger-image-1911542832.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiw0Eigkp36fZgiY7xi7e7HotualFar9FRn-4sWbjdHdb9dclW4LKTkUL4ZBXJ39Vq5H-ga6m5dUDNaCC61aAzj0oupIAQ1WZGX1aIaVKlyuEaTxfjisFc2rtMMAEsqvKvWjevR_giUrH-k/s640/blogger-image--1519205708.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiw0Eigkp36fZgiY7xi7e7HotualFar9FRn-4sWbjdHdb9dclW4LKTkUL4ZBXJ39Vq5H-ga6m5dUDNaCC61aAzj0oupIAQ1WZGX1aIaVKlyuEaTxfjisFc2rtMMAEsqvKvWjevR_giUrH-k/s640/blogger-image--1519205708.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-CXTl7eUaOXM/VdxCv9WOCHI/AAAAAAAAA64/VmmFtphgKbE/s640/blogger-image-1164831915.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-CXTl7eUaOXM/VdxCv9WOCHI/AAAAAAAAA64/VmmFtphgKbE/s640/blogger-image-1164831915.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhD0q2RgGRNszRXDIipQQO-iruiji-gj1ptJlIC8FUoZ4jpCODI5g1-pxprFZUcnRJ4L_2aLjcOHRTlHmeN43-d1Smbs8AVnK-A1iUxoZNnayhLC_iskuS5B8h568Deykflpe5z2xkf2Q2a/s640/blogger-image--1272400475.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhD0q2RgGRNszRXDIipQQO-iruiji-gj1ptJlIC8FUoZ4jpCODI5g1-pxprFZUcnRJ4L_2aLjcOHRTlHmeN43-d1Smbs8AVnK-A1iUxoZNnayhLC_iskuS5B8h568Deykflpe5z2xkf2Q2a/s640/blogger-image--1272400475.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div><br></div><div>Thank you for stopping in and continuing to follow!</div><div>Lots of Love</div><div>Momma Mia</div>Momma Miahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06617799387373163764noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2647432478003956114.post-11959395511037756892015-05-17T17:54:00.001-07:002015-06-06T15:47:57.791-07:00DIY Table Layout! Be sure and place your utensils set or one of similar size into the pockets prior to cutting them and gluing to ensure the place settings are oversized by a little. This allows utensils to fit without hassle and gives a little flexibility if another set is purchased. I would always make sure they are made a little larger rather than smaller just to be safe. As a side note, I purchased a large section of burlap rather then pre cut rolls of burlap because it was much less expensive and it gave me flexibility to really choose the width I wanted without limitation. I made a set of eight for her. </div></div></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjffL3lt8hKsjmxTS_4vOFkD5bIdTQBMMXx7S2b5zAkmyw_coeAP-3NJtrDeaRUpf8qqsGMnFEubLgrjPvxFAe7vaoOLnjOohvIEdlA8XnlZzTMct-t9yypgpkKPbHIF17I9Kn4ix_Dbl7i/s640/blogger-image--1982964469.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjffL3lt8hKsjmxTS_4vOFkD5bIdTQBMMXx7S2b5zAkmyw_coeAP-3NJtrDeaRUpf8qqsGMnFEubLgrjPvxFAe7vaoOLnjOohvIEdlA8XnlZzTMct-t9yypgpkKPbHIF17I9Kn4ix_Dbl7i/s640/blogger-image--1982964469.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjffL3lt8hKsjmxTS_4vOFkD5bIdTQBMMXx7S2b5zAkmyw_coeAP-3NJtrDeaRUpf8qqsGMnFEubLgrjPvxFAe7vaoOLnjOohvIEdlA8XnlZzTMct-t9yypgpkKPbHIF17I9Kn4ix_Dbl7i/s640/blogger-image--1982964469.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-s-nwIpyPBno/VVkrPVrDwfI/AAAAAAAAA24/e4WHAkL3V2g/s640/blogger-image--516200198.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-s-nwIpyPBno/VVkrPVrDwfI/AAAAAAAAA24/e4WHAkL3V2g/s640/blogger-image--516200198.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRtVnZp5HRLGCMrp3i0NfGIa8GDn5a49j3vO4jr4MASPQH-zTC82eKoseOzjx3UeoY0FvetXj0jA_F00dLUlNfCH0u7F6JZ9XT1bPdC0bPaNo_dqUkhKTgqnUrunPvIVOY2FzkPVtZyINm/s640/blogger-image--1499214611.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRtVnZp5HRLGCMrp3i0NfGIa8GDn5a49j3vO4jr4MASPQH-zTC82eKoseOzjx3UeoY0FvetXj0jA_F00dLUlNfCH0u7F6JZ9XT1bPdC0bPaNo_dqUkhKTgqnUrunPvIVOY2FzkPVtZyINm/s640/blogger-image--1499214611.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAY4iAusOdzarzll7F4qjShrf7yVJjPP_XCd9jkoayOpHfWv-b2pHJPDIcC3FH89K8y70yPXscdZdFCzkt3mqnVNjA1yhwFjsqUnbP9jIi83LyhILr1pHfhVllvNG6pCuvfRK8OYNjpyHv/s640/blogger-image-1279955095.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAY4iAusOdzarzll7F4qjShrf7yVJjPP_XCd9jkoayOpHfWv-b2pHJPDIcC3FH89K8y70yPXscdZdFCzkt3mqnVNjA1yhwFjsqUnbP9jIi83LyhILr1pHfhVllvNG6pCuvfRK8OYNjpyHv/s640/blogger-image-1279955095.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"> I ran a small strip of hot glue on the inside edge I was folding up and over to create my pocket as shown below and then ran a thin strip of glue around entire parameter of the back of the place setting to stop any edges from shredding and shedding those little strings on the burlap. Handmade Wind Chimes This time of year has everyone out in their yard adding special touches and making lists of special projects! I've come across so many lovely handmade ideas for wind chimes and outdoor decor that I just had to share!!! So here is the most recent thing added to my outdoor project list!!<div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqwtwRQZIzWKxRp_YX-Rp07jz11DJlc5IkJp3DT-lDSAXw9PtJqZrKDVT95sr3ZKOrloLms6a34V5btoh7MIHA31YO3E65VOzIlQxC0T67ANneVeoVA2pwZeq2x8K0put_lQKtO9bPE6e7/s640/blogger-image-458752102.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqwtwRQZIzWKxRp_YX-Rp07jz11DJlc5IkJp3DT-lDSAXw9PtJqZrKDVT95sr3ZKOrloLms6a34V5btoh7MIHA31YO3E65VOzIlQxC0T67ANneVeoVA2pwZeq2x8K0put_lQKtO9bPE6e7/s640/blogger-image-458752102.jpg"></a></div></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div><div>The below is featured on Crystalarium. They have some beautiful pieces with crystal details. The great thing about this is there will be gentle noises in the breeze and wonderful prisms of color :) </div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TxTuIgp9t9s/VTcAdSWaGnI/AAAAAAAAAzw/MY3HcH0BgTk/s640/blogger-image--1309475493.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TxTuIgp9t9s/VTcAdSWaGnI/AAAAAAAAAzw/MY3HcH0BgTk/s640/blogger-image--1309475493.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div><br></div><div>I really loved the below concept. Take antique pieces and attaches beads, utensils, small antiques and objects that reflect you and your likes! Beautiful and one of a kind! </div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYfp5s6CgBhctz5tHVRppLYBZhDfNgvWLNA2lUQQ0OsG_jmFwmft03-59if8lsSOYoJM5NVeJCu5-aj4kI7P0mypEee6P79je4EBVZX4Cwbh6_hNN7jUAUx837b54mbEJpFIIYyjr9sY-G/s640/blogger-image-289427274.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYfp5s6CgBhctz5tHVRppLYBZhDfNgvWLNA2lUQQ0OsG_jmFwmft03-59if8lsSOYoJM5NVeJCu5-aj4kI7P0mypEee6P79je4EBVZX4Cwbh6_hNN7jUAUx837b54mbEJpFIIYyjr9sY-G/s640/blogger-image-289427274.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I also love the utensil chimes and decorative pieces! Really best reuse of these items and so fun! The reality is that if you enjoy home projects and DIY art then these are not difficult and just really unique and fun! Also, just to buy these already complete they are pretty expensive. Try your hand at creating your own. Then time spent makes it special! If you don't have the time though, which happens to us all, then definitely wonder in to your local craft and decor stores for some beautiful pieces already complete and ready to enjoy! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjMvR458moC6u4j3k0KLPh5vFCgsuwLLlgjdjWE_tbWcdzyTIJiy42ce2izzpEroGNragL85WjS_sQ4WmEnA_gpZZM4_c25O8LLcODuU3rN19YTKelA4VmWoY2oo2YoHFE9BVH5Dt_TRxh/s640/blogger-image-953190672.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjMvR458moC6u4j3k0KLPh5vFCgsuwLLlgjdjWE_tbWcdzyTIJiy42ce2izzpEroGNragL85WjS_sQ4WmEnA_gpZZM4_c25O8LLcODuU3rN19YTKelA4VmWoY2oo2YoHFE9BVH5Dt_TRxh/s640/blogger-image-953190672.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Another chime that beautifully displays unique antique pieces, or duplications of them. Love, love this one! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhX9ZzCBpMMTyI0JMg0UXeKdbPMc04_gbVOwtEzBtXEvKMCUag1VrQ4mk0N-kcOFZz28p4DPqyWLrJVPwI3KNBtzDN5PZx5hE0FTR9RPkL_A0EGjWU3-SVnCQvaPEcJgfJXvHf1nH6gI98c/s640/blogger-image--224758727.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhX9ZzCBpMMTyI0JMg0UXeKdbPMc04_gbVOwtEzBtXEvKMCUag1VrQ4mk0N-kcOFZz28p4DPqyWLrJVPwI3KNBtzDN5PZx5hE0FTR9RPkL_A0EGjWU3-SVnCQvaPEcJgfJXvHf1nH6gI98c/s640/blogger-image--224758727.jpg"></a></div><br><div>This really shows how you can take any okect and repurpose it for a chime. Be totally open minded. If you like the look of something upright, upside down, or sideways then make it happens. Use a steamer basket from kitchen, a metal wire basket for fruits, and the list goes on. Flip it upside down and add your attachment to hang the finished piece. Then add anything that clangs with a noise you think is pretty and add pieces that reflect your surrounding, personality, etc!</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj92Vwn7ZosepacU2JfmoJaKCPZm6ojTpTK-MYukrN1P3TEhU94Gbe2btc3A8IMhJWUCRVWNe0D4QtL94JiVvKkEaDUE2h-lewxt1e_bKKpKxbwsQNa-g9Vjn-AsbFhHY8Xn6qE5nEJq4r6/s640/blogger-image--1001669449.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj92Vwn7ZosepacU2JfmoJaKCPZm6ojTpTK-MYukrN1P3TEhU94Gbe2btc3A8IMhJWUCRVWNe0D4QtL94JiVvKkEaDUE2h-lewxt1e_bKKpKxbwsQNa-g9Vjn-AsbFhHY8Xn6qE5nEJq4r6/s640/blogger-image--1001669449.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I really liked the concept of the below piece, but in my mind I would want to add children's handprints and seal them or special sayings that my family enjoys, my kids art on each piece, or all of us painting them together and adding special details! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZ7II0ptPkHLGu1hwF6v94XP2sL5TATJuoHIv4FC8EmivRF1Csd1JQFup7DLDC4LixQP3wsb5ng8keNZKb7Cy0wOTbTyYfKIllDnXLVhPvRCt734far5MdnRot0hcl5VQ6U80uzZzSUN7D/s640/blogger-image-1672992561.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZ7II0ptPkHLGu1hwF6v94XP2sL5TATJuoHIv4FC8EmivRF1Csd1JQFup7DLDC4LixQP3wsb5ng8keNZKb7Cy0wOTbTyYfKIllDnXLVhPvRCt734far5MdnRot0hcl5VQ6U80uzZzSUN7D/s640/blogger-image-1672992561.jpg"></a></div><br></div>Here is another I loved! I pray and search for guidance to a strong person relationship with God and also for my family to have the same. I pray at the center of our family for a strong focus and faith in God. I read this post on <a href="http://kirkcameron.com/praying-lords-prayer-marriage/">http://kirkcameron.com/praying-lords-prayer-marriage/</a> and just really felt the need to share it. I hope others enjoy it as much as I did. I enjoy his posts regularly. It's constant focus on family and relationships with God and each other and they are very wise and encouraging pieces I feel. <div><br></div><div><br></div><h1 style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 10px; border: 0px; outline: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; font-weight: 500;"><span style="font-size: 17px; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Praying the Lord’s Prayer for Your Marriage</span></h1><p class="post-meta" style="margin: 0px 0px 6px; padding: 0px 0px 15px; border: 0px; outline: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">By <a href="http://timewarpwife.com/praying-lords-prayer-marriage/" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; outline: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; text-decoration: none;">Darlene Schacht at Time-Warp Wife</a> | January 31, 2015 </span></p><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><img width="795" height="380" src="http://449ijl1gws101a1ktoaq0f8kml.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/shutterstock_164560796-795x380-1422623644.jpg" class="attachment-article-thumbnails wp-post-image" alt="shutterstock_164560796" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; outline: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; max-width: 100%; height: auto;"></span><div class="entry-content" style="margin: 0px; padding: 15px 0px 0px; border: 0px; outline: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"><p style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1em; border: 0px; outline: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">It was about ten years ago. Just as the new year arrived we found out we were ready to go and able to start searching for our first home!!! I want to share this new journey that myself and my family are on right now. It is the first new event of the year for us. We are shopping for our first home purchase! I have to say it is an ever changing, petrifying, emotional roller coaster. The upside is I know when all of this is done, complete, and we have found our perfect little home for our family it will all be worth it. Then I can go in and paint my own walls, hang my own pictures, and put up my own decorations. Let me tell you that is when the diy projects and blogs are going to start happening like crazy! I am so exited to share the journey with people too and all of the experiences of purchasing your first home just so that when you do it or if you have already done it you can share and relate to the experiences. Also, use it as some sort of comfort when you go to purchase your first home if you have yet to. There are days with a lot of stress and low moments and then the happy and well accomplished days with much progress made. <div><br></div><div> The next special event tha presented itself in the new year is finding out we are expecting our second little one! Wow... A new little family member, a new home in the works, and so much change all at once!</div><div><br></div><div> I am searching a lot for guidance and calm. For peace and the ability to trust through every challenge. I fall short so often and it amazes me because I see proof every moment of every day that God His hands on our lives yet I second guess and put myself through the questioning and the attempts to take control! </div><div><br></div><div> One example, I was stressed about finances and felt things just we not looking up and I drove to grab a meal to split with my sister and when we got to the window someone before us had paid for our meal. I'm now really familiar either the pay it forward concept and think it is a special and yet such a simple way to impact a persons day. It made me break down in tears! It was to me an immediate sign He was in control and was going to work everything out if we just trusted. </div><div><br></div><div> So I simply wanted to just share these thoughts and hope that my ramblings encourage someone else today. </div><div><br></div><div> I'm thankful I know that I'm not alone, I'm thankful my family is not alone, and I'm so thankful that there is a higher purpose and loving arm around us to step us through every day. </div><div><br></div><div>Lots of Love,</div><div>~~Momma Mia </div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBGgLqzbJXErKEupJtyGT_Qn9nePIvP3FsNv6cjKjLZ0CvJ7dpUdp5MT0_-xOd0kl3kEkIKD-7GP_FS2SzEec1Jhoxr09TxgeNrQASdD-_Qux58grdEVBo1dvIsb6hmFkPOgstdd8xH-Cn/s640/blogger-image-758285377.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBGgLqzbJXErKEupJtyGT_Qn9nePIvP3FsNv6cjKjLZ0CvJ7dpUdp5MT0_-xOd0kl3kEkIKD-7GP_FS2SzEec1Jhoxr09TxgeNrQASdD-_Qux58grdEVBo1dvIsb6hmFkPOgstdd8xH-Cn/s640/blogger-image-758285377.jpg"></a></div><br></div>Momma Miahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06617799387373163764noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2647432478003956114.post-28334759687118011202014-12-17T09:35:00.005-08:002014-12-19T14:17:59.427-08:00Our Handmade Christmas ! Now think mini version! :) Make your favorite pie, but in a cupcake pan for bite size gifts to fill small Christmas trays with or a batch of cookies would be perfect too. Back to the hot chocolate you could make one of those adorable ingredients layered ready to mix up mason jar gifts as well!!! Just get creative and pick your recipes and treats according to ingredients and pricing as well. There is no harm in picking the best dessert at the least expense. You can crochet all of these and at a very reasonable price especially if you watch your sales at your local craft store such as Hobby Lobby. They run sales for sections of their store every single week and they also offer a 40% off coupon for one regular priced item per customer. Also note weeks before Christmas even comes close to arriving Hobby Lobby and many other local craft locations are already marking down the Christmas everything substantially so this would be a great time to grab those last minute yarns and scrapbook papers with a holiday theme!!!! </span></div><div style="text-decoration: -webkit-letterpress;"><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><br></span></div><div style="text-decoration: -webkit-letterpress;"><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_osPKaESduoyi1D3DkIpoFKpmexv2igeb-tR6p3mj1mClR98D8MX_xCEMD4KcYE0fYMT4CjBoADTtwM5SrkrU9wLUuYK5rFVYFvLqLGwN3gr4b2hMkoX5Rh3c7dB8UIRa0Nh4g8nd2tXi/s640/blogger-image-1473303735.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_osPKaESduoyi1D3DkIpoFKpmexv2igeb-tR6p3mj1mClR98D8MX_xCEMD4KcYE0fYMT4CjBoADTtwM5SrkrU9wLUuYK5rFVYFvLqLGwN3gr4b2hMkoX5Rh3c7dB8UIRa0Nh4g8nd2tXi/s640/blogger-image-1473303735.jpg"></a></div><br></span></div><div style="text-decoration: -webkit-letterpress;"><font face="Helvetica Neue Light, HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif"><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"> </span></font></div><div style="text-decoration: -webkit-letterpress;"><font face="Helvetica Neue Light, HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif"><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;">4) Now for the Festive Wrapping! </span></font></div>

That festive pre-finished paper can be so expensive and for barely any paper! Some wonderful warm, personal alternatives can be butchers paper or some basic white paper that you can buy from anywhere for a multitude of purposes. The cost will not be nearly what it would be for some pre-packaged holiday wrapping paper because it's not geared towards the current high demand. </span><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Grab a silver or gold marker and write your Christmas note right on the paper. </span><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Get some solid white paper draw some pretty designs on it or make a little ornament and attach it to the top as a decorative edition. I have also included some other ideas below. Simple little wooden ornaments you can create by just finding a tree limb in your yard or grabbing a dowling rod that you can get from your local hardware store and cut in slices. You want the width to be substantial enough to make a nice circular ornament so a few inches wide is ideal. Use a little wood burning tool kit or paint (whatever you prefer) on these and add some sweet sayings, a Bible verse , names and a date, or note the celebration of a first Christmas for a couple just married or in their first home. Highlight a precious baby's first Christmas or a gift for expectant parents and it will mean so much, but at a portion of the cost. </span></div>

For lost baby's before a mom could ever see them open their eyes, for family and friends and sudden tragedys. </div><div><br></div><div> There are also prayers of thankfulness for blessings of all kinds: safe travels, new baby's, clean bills of health, new milestones in life, close relationships with Christ no matter if newly found or just stronger than ever.</div><div><br></div><div> <span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"> This may seem confusing to some, but based on some of the things we have experienced lately I am at this second to the point of tears just from feeling overwhelmingly blessed, grateful, honored that my son can call for me and find me. That he can say Mommy and not have to keep looking with no knowledge his mommy went to Heaven and will no longer be able to love and care for him on this earth. I pray for a long and healthy life in which I can pester and harrass my family to the very last because though I know I'm going to Heaven and I'm blessed to have that opportunity I also love my little piece of Heaven God has granted me on this earth. </span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div><div> Prayer<span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"> is the very first and yet also the final place your heart and lips go to cry and to rejoice! Leading from this I think THE SINGLE MOST perfect memories and decorating combination is handmade decorations with your children, family, and friends! Absolutely nothing beats the value of those to me! Give me an ornament that is store bought in comparison to an ornament my little boy made for me and the one that will light up my day is the one he hands me with his beautiful art work and a huge, proud smile!!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"> Below I have shown several pictures of ornaments we have made at home this holiday season. </div><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">** Below is the way my sister arranged her special handmade Christmas decorations and I just loved and had to share! She made the little snowmen clothespin son the tree and the terra cotta pot snowmen sitting on the end table as well. </div><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLv_AaYmn8TG7ciok4XzIOJAy2hfRW5eAGs_Gcw6yoNKCER1wBQnY1EBwtB51fc2m65DkqlKgPrcRxL3o18DmAPTKZG0NKQuueBjBDiibgzl74CgT6U65NzD01DEh6kvTHxEr209rOJ8vI/s640/blogger-image--1362054801.jpg"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">1) Children's Handprint Ornament</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"> </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"> Below is a blank porcelain ornament where the kids painted their sweet little hands and placed their handprints one on top of the other. I just love, love this!!! Immediately made it and every member wanted one! Be sure and let the prints thoroughly dry then spray a sealant for safe keeping :)</div><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXqLgNoKI1VYwmDYNbCw3f1UFBUwYFmtH7SrwWgYvdXsEBccUoxA7sm9OPFe2bl96Ga6iJROC-GGP4yOba4V5XLYhIv7hxqW4cWWo7WnF5UQrskB97o-okGGWh1GceYTEs2r6IljASBxi1/s640/blogger-image-1068540922.jpg"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">2) Terra Cotta Snowman Ornaments </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"> These are precious and were simple to make. Well, I say that, but it takes a tiny bit of sewing and prep before it just falls together and my wonderful mom did the prep on these precious pieces. We made this as our Thanksgiving Day craft for all of my sisters and the little ones to do together. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"> First just simply paint your terra cotta white then for the scarf base we just got glued ribbon on. The face is hand painted and little Pom Poms are the ear muffs! :) Feed a couple of bells larger than the hole in the base of the terra cotta pot onto a string and then feed the string through the hole. Knot it off and this is your bell sound and ornament hanging string :) </div><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfoguIkBApXgNsmQ8IZ3e8szP8q8JJYOp2krfqSGt2PG6JCyCJ9vA4u4_ECXejlva3V_1GMEs2TMYoVQWIeb3-yy1Rmb_kTGIlNBfswCrpcbWFiRUA4NU1gPce7v29XLYPR_MEj8IbVneg/s640/blogger-image--13901427.jpg"></div><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">3) DIY Clothespin Snowmen</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"> Just get clothespins from any craft store and paint them white. The scarfs are pipe cleaners twisted and secured in one little spot with hot glue. The hats are the wooden sewing string spools painted black and then to widen the base of the hat more we cut some black felt in a larger circle and just got glued to base of the black wooden spool. Tada! :) So cute!!! </div><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgX6rb2YcDFnBO_o6TmLJhPRUlKrOHdlDFP0XBZyU-VwfGb4mn2QhmDaB764dbOk4-B3ziBS5ckfUfGcYLgb3OdF7I2pzZGt4C9Bb8teN2qXzSui_WrOGRjul8c63Z3P2NO9c6N6n_fISQs/s640/blogger-image--1557207291.jpg"></div><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">4) Reindeer Ornaments from Wine Corks </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"> These are assembled with hot glue, twigs from our dogwood tree :), and a little screwed on loop to hold string on top so it can be hung as an ornament. As a first time mommy of a little boy I'm in training! I'm working to learn and observe so that when my little guy is old enough I'll be able to cheer him on and know all that he is talking about when he wants to!! I want to make him proud and take every opportunity to be a part of his joys in life!!! <div> It's important to note I do know some about sports because my wonderful dad was surrounded by four little girls his and no boys so we learned and participated with him! Playing football in the yard and anything else to spend time with our awesome dad. :) Now I'm just trying for my little boy to take what my dad has taught us to the next level! Luckily I have my dad and husband to continue my eduction on this! </div><div> So, to touch base on my actual post name, I do have to say that catch was literally the most amazing catch I have ever seen and my dad was through the roof when it happened too!! If I can I'll post a highlight, but it was awesome! He caught it behind his head one handed and brought that football in safely! Awesome job <span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Odell Beckham Jr.!!! Wishing you an amazing career!!
